In a lead-up to CES 2023, Lenovo has raised the curtain on new ThinkPad laptops, ThinkVision monitors, IdeaPad laptops, an IdeaCentre Mini desktop and the next-generation Smart Tab M9. The new devices focus on hybrid working environments and mobility, including lightweights, 2-in-1 models, and ultraportable laptops with the latest Intel Core processors. Those who work with a dual monitor setup may be intrigued by the new ThinkVision P49w-30 ultrawide, which measures 49-inch diagonally and sports a QHD IPS panel with a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Lenovo also unveiled accessories to help with hybrid workflow efficiencies.

These include the Lenovo Go Desk Station, Lenovo Go 4K Pro webcam, the Lenovo Professional Wireless rechargeable combo keyboard and mouse, and a variety of  monitors (L-series, T-series, and 4K ThinkVision P-series).

The 9-inch Lenovo Smart Tab M9 is Netflix HD-supported and features a 1340×800 LCD touchscreen and dual-speaker Dolby Atmos audio. This midrange-sized unit packs a powerful battery (5100mAh) with 15W+ Type-C fast charging, starting at $139.99. It’s expected for release in Q2, in either an Arctic Grey or Frost Blue color.

Android 12 comes baked-in, “however, Google’s latest Android 13 software update is in its future,” writes Laptop Mag. But out of the box Smart Tab M9 supports Google Assistant. “Say ‘Hey Google’ and dictate emails, play music, or get weather and traffic updates using just your voice,” Laptop Mag says.

Sporting a 14-inch OLED display, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Gen 11) is available at up to 2.8K resolution and has 400 nits of brightness and HDR500. The bezels on the side are thin, and there is also an FHD camera on the top with an IR sensor. The laptop runs Windows 11 on Intel Core and Iris X Graphics. It can be configured with up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB Gen 4 PCIe NVMe SSD.

Dolby Atmos speakers with Dolby Voice and 360-degree microphones for conference talks round-out the package. Best of all, it’s ultra-lightweight, at just 2.48 pounds. Tricked out with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2, an HDMI 2.0b, and 5G support, it starts at $1,729.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga (Gen 8) features a 14-inch 4K OLED panel with 500 nits of brightness, with an AOFT Touch option on some models. “The display can also flip and go in tent-mode, allowing users to prop it up, and use it in any way they want,” Lenovo says.  The FHD camera has an IR MIPI sensor.

Pre-installed with Windows 11, hardware specs include the latest Intel Core processors, up to 64GB of LPDDR5 memory, up to 2TB Gen 4 PCIe NVMe SSD, and has Intel Iris X graphics, all in a 3-pound package. There’s also a fingerprint reader.

“The webcam also powers features like Privacy Guard and Privacy Alert so others can’t spy on what you’re working on,” according to XDA, which says “it also provides posture warnings if you’re sitting in a bad position.” The device is starting at $1,859.

With its slim, lightweight, form factor and narrow bezels, the ThinkPad X1 Nano (Gen 3) has a sleek modern look. The 13-inch display has up to 2K resolution and 450 nits of brightness. Some models feature the AOFT touch option. As with the other ThinkPads, it comes with an FHD camera and IR MIPI sensor. The X1 Nano weighs just 2.13 pounds and has a fingerprint reader. It will be available in April 2023, starting at $1,649.
