Inside Lenovo’s tent, visitors challenged each other to a virtual game of air hockey on the company’s new IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC, which doubles as both an oversized tablet and desktop computer with a smart hinge system. The company also unveiled a sleek new 5.5-inch smartphone with an HD display and powerful cameras alongside a new ThinkPad convertible and IdeaPad ultrabook.

Expected for availability by summer, the 27-inch Horizon runs Windows 8 and will sell for around $1,700 (CNET has a video demo, and Lenovo has a promotional video). “It comes with a special set of accessories including an e-dice and four joysticks and strikers to offer a completely new digital gaming experience that combines the physical gaming accessory with the on-screen action,” the press release states. Lenovo also showed a 39-inch concept tablet code-named “Gamma.”

Tucked away somewhat discreetly in the back of Lenovo’s tent is its new concept phone, the K900. “At 6.9mm, the K900 is the thinnest phone in its class by a wide margin and weighs in at a mere 5.7 ounces,” the press release states. “The K900 is one of the first smartphones in the world to combine a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080p full high-definition resolution performance at 400+ pixels-per-inch, all under the latest, touch-capacitive Gorilla Glass 2.”

Using the Android OS, the phone is built around the forthcoming Intel Atom processor. The phone’s rear-facing camera was redesigned for the slim form factor but still packs 13MP. The forward-facing camera has a wider view angle to enhance self-photos taken at arm’s length. Pricing has not been determined and the phone will only be available in China and select regional markets starting in April.

The new ThinkPad Helix convertible has a full-sized keyboard and an 11.6-inch “rip and flip” screen, which can be used separately as a tablet. The sturdy hinge allows the screen to be attached in both directions, and the keyboard dock offers extended battery life. With a late-February release date, the Helix will sell for around $1,500.

In the $800 range, consumers can buy the new 11.6-inch IdeaPad Yoga 11S ultrabook, which enables 360-degree folding and is only 0.68-inch thick. Like the Horizon, the Yoga supports 10-finger multi-touch and both the Helix and Yoga also run Windows 8. The Yoga won’t, however, be available until June.
