Accenture Outlines Three Significant Changes Coming to Smartphones

In a Forbes guest post, Thomas Stuermer, a senior exec of Accenture‘s Electronics & High-Tech group, details three new trends in the smartphone market that his company has identified as potentially having a significant impact on business, technology and consumers:
1) “The growth in the wireless charging market for smartphones and other types of cell phones.” Watch for change in technologies and standards regarding battery life.
2) “The development of flexible smartphone displays.” Expect to see flexible, bendable displays beyond smartphones (for example: kitchen countertops, remote sensors, consumer goods and automobiles).
3) “The fast-growing demand for smartphone features in emerging markets such as China and India.” Manufacturers will turn to low-end markets with innovative, affordable solutions.
