CES 2013: Ultra Portable Personal Bluetooth Sound Monitor
January 10, 2013
Soundmatters introduced an improved and more compact audiophiles level Bluetooth monitor for traveling production professionals. The foxL DASH 7 has a wider sound field and tighter mid-bass than their earlier system and a thinner profile that packs better in overstuffed flight luggage. Only 3/4-inch thick and weighing only 7.1 ounces it can hide below the edge of tablets for video reviews with accurate reproduction with an impressive sound field for stereo playback.
The wireless sound bar uses a patented Bass-Battery that extends bass range with battery life of 12 hours on Bluetooth or longer if connected directly. It also allows the attachment of a fat paperback-sized subwoofer to convert to a very impressive monitor system for even the widest of instrumentation or dramatic events.
The system includes the foxL DASH 7 with a plugin 5V international charger, a Micro-USB charging cable, a stereo audio cable and a combo speaker/travel case that angles the system for effective sound field reproduction.
For the mobile production folks on the road it also serves as a speakerphone/conferencing system via built-in noise-canceling microphone. Reviewed by the audiophile community consistently as among the best of portable gear, this small speaker is truly impressive.
You can check it out in the North Hall, #5829.
