Diesel Vert Watch Debut Powered by Web3 Promo with NFTs

Watch brand Diesel continues its exploration of Web3 and the metaverse with its new Vert line, a collaboration with Fossil dropping November 2. The “narrative-driven brand experience” for Vert centers on a game-like digital adventure called “the Vert Metamorph Experience” that that can be explored online and instore through November 17. The Metamorph virtual world is inspired by Vert design details resulting in an environment both organic and futuristic. There, visitors will try to advance through challenges as an NFT-minted “A:VERT:AR” trying to reactivate time in land where it has stopped.

The challenges will culminate in a virtual concert by Lil’ Dre. “Will you play as a Giant or as a Seeker?” it asks on Diesel’s Vert website, complete with trailer, urging shoppers to experience the Metamorph via select stores worldwide.

Shoppers are invited to “join from the store with an exclusive character and interact with players from all around the globe.”

Each Diesel Vert watch purchase comes with a code enabling access to a limited edition NFT that will “evolve over time,” transforming in three stages to an avatar that will live in the Vertual world.

“What gives Diesel’s Web3 stance an edge is its pledge to inclusivity,” writes NFT Plazas, explaining “the Vert Metaverse experience is for more than watch and NFT owners, with everyone being able to step into the mesmerizing world.”

Though those who don’t purchase a watch will be limited to less fancy “base avatar.” Vert NFT owners can access custom skins and premium gameplay. But where other brands that dabbled in similar spheres invited only paying clientele, Diesel is inviting everyone to play, NFT Plazas notes.

The Vert collection will initially have five styles: silver, gold and black, as well as limited editions with leather accents and stainless steel. Prices range from $350 to $425 and purchasing one of each Vert style “will link holders to an NFT for their collection and an opportunity to interact with the virtual world,” Diesel says in an announcement.

Described as an “immersive, multi-layered, game-like experience,” the Metamorph world was developed in partnership with Web3 design firm Artificial Rome.
