ETC Seeks Project Director for Production in the Cloud Initiative

The Entertainment Technology Center @ The University of Southern California (ETC) is seeking a project director to oversee its existing Production in the Cloud initiative, as well as develop and lead new initiatives in the media & entertainment space. The project director will work with studio executives and key technology and services providers to advance production methodology for creative content and delivery. JOB SUMMARY
Manage transitioning the entire production workflow to the cloud. Work with and guide content creators, leading technology organizations, and technologists through the process. Identify and engage major companies whose missions and technologies are applicable to the effort. Program and market the cloud initiative through ETC and industry conferences, seminars, meetings and other creative means.
Develop, with the guidance of ETC’s Board of Directors, new next-generation initiatives related to the production and distribution of content.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Ideal candidate will have minimally 8-10 years experience working in media and entertainment-related technology applications, integration, and process management. Experience interacting and managing engineering, integration and technology partners. Strong project management skills. Proven track record in providing leadership in driving next-generation technology applications.

3. Manage/monitor mission’s subcommittees:
— Transport, Storage & Archive, Security, Metadata, Framework
4. Coordinate, program and lead:
— Quarterly meetings
— Conferences (vNAB, NAB, SMPTE, HPA, AIMA, HITS)
5. Generate white papers
6. Marketing and outreach:
— Participation in industry events
— Member recruitment for ETC
— Executive education
7. SMPTE standardization work on the committee to process and formalize C4ID
