Super Bowl Halftime Show Will Be Shoppable for the First Time
January 30, 2015
During Katy Perry’s halftime performance at this weekend’s Super Bowl, Delivery Agent’s ShopTV platform will enable viewers to purchase special merchandise via connected devices. Products (including a limited-edition Perry item) can be ordered through connected Samsung and LG TVs, shop-enabled tweets from brand partners, and mobile devices with the Shazam content-recognition app. Merchandise will also be available during and after the Super Bowl via the ShopTV app on Roku devices.
“Delivery Agent said Visa Checkout is the exclusive ShopTV payment provider for the promo, noting that the effort will be backed by a marketing campaign informing consumers that the limited edition products pitched during the halftime show will be available through a variety of means through Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 5:00 p.m. PT,” reports Multichannel News.
“Last year, we enabled the first shoppable commercial with H&M, launching the beginning of live in-advertising purchasing,” said Delivery Agent CEO Mike Fitzsimmons.
“This year, we are vastly expanding the shopping opportunities, making the most watched sporting event in the world a live shopping experience,” he noted. “Delivery Agent’s ShopTV technology, coupled with the rise in connected device penetration, will once again change the viewing experience, giving consumers the ability to engage and transact across multiple screens and platforms while they watch.”
According to Multichannel News, Delivery Agent has worked with networks and MVPDs such as AT&T, Cablevision, CBS, Comcast, Fox, HBO, NBC, Showtime and Verizon.
