Microsoft next month moves to public preview with a Copilot Studio feature that lets users create autonomous AI agents. The agents had been in private preview since the spring, and the tech giant’s move to take them public comes after Salesforce launched its own agentic program in September. Microsoft also has plans to add 10 autonomous agents to Dynamics 365, an enterprise suite geared toward resource planning and customer relationship management. Microsoft announced the news this week at its “AI Tour” event in London. Copilot is Microsoft’s branded AI assistant, while Copilot Studio lets people customize their Copilot assistants. Amazon has added $2.75 billion to its initial September 2023 investment of $1.25 billion in Anthropic, completing its announced $4 billion stake in the artificial intelligence startup formed in 2021 by former members of OpenAI. As part of the resulting strategic collaboration, Anthropic’s most powerful models, including the Claude 3 series, are available on Amazon Bedrock, a service providing fully managed foundation models. Salesforce has launched AI Cloud, adding generative AI across all its sales, service, marketing, commerce and IT tools. The AI Cloud suite for enterprise is built around Einstein, which Salesforce says is the first AI for CRM, and its new Einstein GPT Trust Layer, designed to deter large-language models from retaining sensitive customer data. “This separation of sensitive data from the LLM will help customers maintain data governance controls while still leveraging the immense potential of generative AI,” Salesforce says.
