IBM has updated its Guardium platform to optimize protections for security threats stemming from the current tech environment: “shadow AI” and quantum exposure. The new IBM Guardium Data Security Center leverages tools from both IBM Guardium AI Security and IBM Guardium Quantum Safe, allowing for cross-environment protection with unified controls in a single dashboard. Data monitoring and governance, data detection and response, data and AI security posture management and cryptography management to deflect quantum attacks can now be managed from an omniscient perspective, allowing security teams to integrate workflows. Anthropic, maker of the the popular Claude AI chatbot, has updated its Responsible Scaling Policy (RSP), designed and implemented to mitigate the risks of advanced AI systems. The policy was introduced last year and has since been improved, with new protocols added to ensure AI models are developed and deployed safely as they grow more powerful. This latest update offers “a more flexible and nuanced approach to assessing and managing AI risks while maintaining our commitment not to train or deploy models unless we have implemented adequate safeguards,” according to Anthropic. OpenAI unveiled major updates at its DevDay conference with the focus largely on making AI more accessible, efficient and affordable. Included were four innovations: Vision Fine-Tuning in the API, Model Distillation, Prompt Caching and the public beta of Realtime API. The approach underscores OpenAI’s effort to empower its developer ecosystem even as it continues to compete for end-users in the enterprise space. The Realtime API gives developers the option of building “nearly real-time” speech-to-speech app experiences, selecting from among six OpenAI voices. Vision Fine-Tuning for GPT-4o enables customization of the model’s visual understanding of images and text. Continue reading OpenAI Showcases Latest Updates for Voice, Picture and More
