Nvidia Cosmos, a platform of generative world foundation models (WFMs) and related tools to advance the development of physical AI systems like autonomous vehicles and robots, was introduced at CES 2025. Cosmos WFMs are designed to provide developers a way to generate massive amounts of photo-real, physics-based synthetic data to train and evaluate their existing models. The goal is to reduce costs by streamlining real-world testing with a ready data pipeline. Developers can also build custom models by fine-tuning Cosmos WFMs. Cosmos integrates Nvidia Omniverse, a physics simulation tool used for entertainment world-building. CES has regularly featured robots over the years, but we’ve never really seen anything pivotal. CES 2025 marked a change in this area. “The ChatGPT moment for robotics is just around the corner,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in his keynote, and we couldn’t agree more. And while attention was focused on LLMs, the field of industrial robotics has been unleashed like never before. According to World Robotics 2024, the International Federation of Robotics’ recent report, 4.3 million units were deployed in factories worldwide as of Q3 2024, a number that’s increasing at a clip of half a million units per year. This is double from 7 years ago, and the trend is accelerating. Continue reading CES: Is the ChatGPT Moment for Robotics Around the Corner?

AI-centric crypto firms SingularityNET, Fetch.ai and Ocean Protocol will merge their tokens under a single token known as the Artificial Superintelligence token, ASI, with a fully diluted value of $7.6 billion. Although the three companies will continue to operate separately, an Artificial Superintelligence Alliance comprised of members from each will guide the vision. The ASIA goal is to develop decentralized AI technology on blockchain as an alternative to the large corporations currently controlling AI. The end game, to create artificial general intelligence. The merger is contingent on approval from each community’s members. Continue reading AI Crypto Firms Will Merge Tokens in Bid to Take on Big Tech

After introducing the PC-driven Vive Cosmos virtual reality headset last year, HTC just debuted four new VR headsets: the Cosmos, Cosmos Play, Cosmos Elite and Cosmos XR. The headsets are similar to the original Vive Cosmos in terms of technology and modular design, the latter aimed at encouraging widespread distribution. According to HTC, Cosmos Play is the entry level headset, a basic model that will be the least expensive, and the Vive Cosmos will be HTC’s latest flagship product, a successor for the original Vive.
