Projector company Valerion debuted its highly anticipated VisionMaster Max at CES 2025. Valerion says the $4,000 4K triple-laser projector is the first home unit to use the professional-grade OpticFlex Lens System with optical zoom, vertical lens shift and dynamic iris, projecting images from 40 inches to 300 inches (a massive 25 feet). The Max delivers 3,000 ISO lumens and a 15,000:1 contrast ratio, while all entries in the VisionMaster series feature 110 percent coverage of the Rec. 2020 color space and enhanced black level (EBL). LG Electronics is introducing the LG Smart Cam, a Full HD video camera with built-in dual microphones and multi-view function. The LG Smart Cam is a 1080p camera system designed to seamlessly operate with any LG smart TV running webOS 22 or webOS 23, the company’s proprietary platform. Among the features of the model VC23GA Smart Cam are webOS’s multi-view, which displays two apps in a split-screen, and videoconferencing using LG’s web-based RemoteMeeting app. LG is also touting Smart Cam as a next-generation home fitness experience. Sharp, which became the first to bring IGZO display technology to the mass market in 2013, is showcasing a number of eye-popping display prototypes that may find their way into devices in the next 12 months. Among them, a MEMS display and “narrow border” screens that will further slim down phones, notebooks and tablets. For example, the Ultra High Resolution “Quad Full HD,” or QFHD LCD screen, offers a 15.6-inch 3840×2160 pixel display, four times that of normal HD.
