Home Entertainment has teamed with blockchain content developer Eluvio for the “Superman Web3 Movie Experience,” designed to give action film lovers a collectible experience while offering new life to the 45-year-old feature “Superman: The Movie” starring Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. Described as “a multimedia NFT for fans to own and to engage with the 1978 Richard Donner film in an exciting way,” the limited release is available June 9-16 at $30 for the Standard edition or $100 for a Premium edition that will be available for 24 hours June 9-10. Warner Bros. Discovery saw streaming subscriptions grow to almost 95 million globally in Q3 across HBO, HBO Max and Discovery+, propelled largely by “House of the Dragon,” the hotly anticipated “Game of Thrones” prequel. The buoyant performance prompted WBD CEO David Zaslav to announce on the earnings call that the company has accelerated the U.S. launch for the new streaming platform that combines HBO Max and Discovery+ to spring, rather than waiting until summer 2023 as originally planned. Online network Machinima recently secured exclusive rights to a three-part “Justice League” series from Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. The animated series will launch in spring 2015 as “Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles.” It will follow the Justice League in an alternate DC universe, where the superheroes are darker than their well-known personalities. The digital series is based on the animated feature, “Justice League: Gods and Monsters,” to be released by Warner Bros. later in 2015. For those who purchase the newly released “Man Of Steel: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” limited deluxe edition CD, a unique feature joins Hans Zimmer’s musical score. The deluxe edition includes an access code to download the Z+ Music app for iOS devices that allows users to play the soundtrack in 11.1 channel surround sound using any headphones, including earbuds.
