The Wall Street Journal Launches Interactive Video Series
November 6, 2014
“WSJ: Interactive” — now available on desktops, tablets and newer Android devices — is a video series produced by the editorial staff of The Wall Street Journal. Powered by TouchCast technology, the series delivers breaking and trending news while integrating the interactivity of the Web into its videos. TouchCast enables viewers to take a more active role in consuming content by flowing between interactive on-screen graphics involving multimedia and websites while remaining within the primary video experience.
“The Wall Street Journal’s capabilities — including video, infographics and real time stock charts — make us uniquely qualified to take advantage of this interactive technology,” said Andy Regal, senior executive producer, The Wall Street Journal. “With WSJ: Interactive, readers will enjoy an enhanced experience and the opportunity to sample all our content at their own pace and preference.”
New York-based TouchCast prides content creators with an interactive video platform and a range of tools including virtual sets, green screens, teleprompters, visual and sound effects, titles and graphics, and more.
According to the press release: “TouchCast launched in June of 2013, and has released iPad and desktop versions of its Authoring Suite. TouchCast Cloud Collaboration allows creators to share projects and collaborate remotely.”
